Domestic Violence Awareness Panel by COM.IT.ES NY & Italian Women USA
Join COM.IT.ES NY in partnership with Italian Women Usaat the Consulate General Of Italyor a panel discussion about domestic violence.
City leaders, local organizations, and legal field professionals together with DV advocates and survivors will share their expertise and experience. The purpose is to spread awareness about what domestic violence is and share information about available resources for those in domestic violence situations.
The event will be followed by a light reception offered by Pane Pasta and European Wine Imports New York.

Francesca Di Matteo, journalist
Ceyenne Doroshow, founder of G.L.I.T.S., who will discuss the impact of domestic violence in the transgender community;
Hon. Judge Jessica Earle Gargan, serving on the Queens County Criminal Court and presiding over Domestic Violence;
Germana Giordano, criminal law attorney with experience in Domestic Violence cases;
Nancy M. Green, family attorney, who will discuss the options for Domestic Violence survivors in all types of domestic and family law matters, including child custody;
Susan Henner, immigration attorney, who will discuss the U visa, VAWA cases and immigration issues for survivors of Domestic Violence;
Wanda Lucibello, Associate Vice Presidente, Crime Victim Assistance Program, Safe Horizon;
Alessandra Sabbatini, licensed therapist with extensive experience in gender-based violence and LGTBQI+;
Jara Traina, General Counsel, New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence;
Doc Dougherty, actor and Domestic Violence survivor, will moderate the panel and give his testimony as survivor of Domestic Violence as a child.
